Giray Boran has over 14 years of experience primarily in the UK, US and Turkish investment management and private equity sectors, having advised on large scale corporate M&A and private equity transactions focusing on various industry segments. Throughout his career, Giray originated and has overseen the execution of over $10.0 billion of transactions across Emerging Markets, Western Europe and the US within the financing, capital markets and principal investments space.

Giray serves as a Managing Director at BLG Capital and has invested over $1.5 billion of equity since 2012 and raised one United States and two Turkish private equity funds of $2.0 billion in aggregate to invest in United States and Turkey based companies with $6.0 billion in total assets under management. As part of UniCredit’s M&A Group in London and Turkey, Mr. Boran was responsible for country coverage for Private Equity deals. He advised over $4.0 billion of M&A, debt, equity financing transactions, and executed the largest Turkish REIT public offering.

Giray is well known in the business startup community as an entrepreneur, real estate and technology investor who has founded or funded numerous companies with successful exits such as Hospedia Turkey which was founded by Mr. Boran in 2011, a patient entertainment and clinical support services, and the company was acquired by Hospedia UK (a Marlin Equity Partners and GE Capital portfolio company).

Mr. Boran is a frequent guest lecturer at numerous business schools in Turkey, France and United Kingdom where he teaches a post-grad and grad classes.

Giray holds a Master of International Business Administration from Grenoble Ecole De Management, a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabanci University, and a high school degree from Saint-Benoit High School.
